Our Identity

Who We Are

BurundiAwards is a South African consultancy dedicated to designing and managing recognition programs that celebrate excellence across business, arts, and community leadership.

For Business Leaders

We partner with chambers of commerce, industry bodies, and corporate clients to create transparent awards programs that elevate brand reputation and recognize innovation across sectors.

For the Arts Community

Our fellowship and awards tracks support emerging and established creatives — from painters and musicians to writers and filmmakers — providing mentorship, exposure, and credible recognition.

For Community Leaders

We design grassroots awards that honor local changemakers in education, food security, youth development, and social justice — ensuring the recognition is accessible and meaningful.

Our tone is professional yet warm — we believe recognition should be transparent, inclusive, and deeply respectful of the people and organizations that shape South Africa’s future.

Our Journey

Building a legacy of recognition

From a small consultancy to a trusted partner in excellence awards across South Africa.

1

Foundation & First Program

2018

BurundiAwards was established with a clear mission: to create credible, transparent awards programs that celebrate real achievement. The first project was a pilot awards program for a regional business chamber, which attracted 80 nominations and set the standard for our methodology.

2

Expansion into Arts & Culture

2020

Recognizing the need for platforms that elevate creative talent, we launched the Cape Town Arts & Culture Fellowship. The program combined a rigorous selection process with a mentorship component, a decision that doubled participant retention and attracted funding from arts foundations.

3

Deepening Community Impact

2022

The KwaZulu-Natal Community Leadership Awards marked a strategic shift toward grassroots engagement. By holding consultations in rural areas and simplifying the nomination process, we saw a 40% increase in entries from outside major cities. The program became a model for inclusive recognition.

4

Provincial Flagship & National Reach

2024

The Gauteng Business Excellence Awards became our largest program to date, with over 200 participating companies and a gala attended by 500+ guests. This milestone proved that our structured, independent judging process could scale without compromising integrity, and opened doors for national-level partnerships.
